Conventional VS Natural Ways to Cure Acne

Many people are fast finding out that there are better and natural ways to cure acne. There has been a steady decline of people availing treatment from traditional dermatologists as more and more are finding out about the real deal behind why they don't work, and are turning towards homeopathic remedies and safer solutions, that although takes time, are more permanent and have minimal or no side-effects.

Call it what you may, whether its blemishes, breakouts, zits, or more technical terms such as papules and pustules, acne is acne and is no fun to be with, especially if you feel that it's been there for almost half of your life.

Although the exact cause of acne is unknown, the medical industry has banked it on a number of factors, one of which is an increase in hormones called androgens. These cause the sebaceous glands to grow larger than normal and in the process, make more sebum. Another possible factor is genetics or heredity as researchers are concluding that acne can be inherited from parents. Family history is such a strong link and definitely cannot be denied.

There are also some drugs which are known to cause acne, such as androgens and lithium. And of course, one cannot discount certain types of cosmetics (the greasy kinds) that are capable of altering the cells of the follicles, making them stick together and as a result, producing a plug.

Regardless though of the cause, here's something you need to know. When it comes to diagnosis, you can count on your dermatologist or skin doctor to come up with an accurate analysis. When it comes to treatment however, it's a different story.

Because conventional treatment can only take you so far as addressing the symptoms of the problem and not really going for the root cause. Another way of calling this would be the "band-aid" approach. No amount of prescriptive or OTC medication will work and eliminate the problem just that. If it is somehow cured, there is usually a trade-off as these kinds of drugs have side effects which may resurface later in life. It's not a good thing to cure your acne at the expense of creating another one.

In order to cure your acne, natural ways should be considered. Though the healing process may take long, it is worth its while. For people who not just care about their faces, but their health as well, this is clearly the best way to go.
